How the club ranking works
The ranking adds up titles and lost finals, not matches. Each tournament carries a weight according to its standing, and every data point is confirmed by at least two sources. The numbers on this page come from the same configuration file the calculation uses.
The three views
- Overall. 60% all-time and 40% current. Each view is scaled from 0 to 100 (the leader is 100) and the result is rounded to one decimal.
- All-time. The sum of every title and final in history, each with its weight, with no discount for age.
- Current. The same weights, only from 2022 to 2026, multiplied by 1 / 0.8 / 0.6 / 0.4 / 0.2 by year (counting back from 2026).
Current only looks at what was won in the last 5 seasons (100/80/60/40/20% by recency), so a recent title moves the Overall view a lot: today a recent champion with little history can make the top 10.
Europe's current view is the official UEFA club coefficient: it is not computed here, we use it exactly as UEFA publishes it.
Ties: same score, same position (1, 2, 2, 4). Within a tie, the club with more titles in the flagship tournament (Libertadores in Argentina, Brazil and South America; Champions League in Europe) goes first, then more finals in it, then the name.
Each title counts in the year of its edition: the 2025/26 European season counts as 2026, and Argentine domestic cups count in the year of the final. Editions in progress don't count until they finish.

Not counted: super cups and one-off trophies (Supercopa Argentina, Trofeo de Campeones, Supercopa do Brasil, Supercopa Internacional, UEFA Super Cup), state championships, Interamericana, Suruga and amateur cup tournaments.
Next to each list we show each club's position in the official ranking: CONMEBOL's for Argentina, Brazil and South America, and the UEFA coefficient for Europe. It is not part of our calculation (except Europe's Current view): it is there to compare.
Where the data comes from
Every edition is confirmed by at least two sources: Spanish, English and Portuguese Wikipedia, RSSSF and the official sites of AFA, CBF, CONMEBOL, UEFA and FIFA. League titles follow the official AFA and CBF counts. Points are never typed in by hand: they are computed with these same weights.

Argentine league (Primera) · 197 editions
Every Primera División title AFA recognises in its official list of champions (1891 → 2026 Apertura): 197 titles. It includes the amateur era (with the championships of the breakaway FAF 1912-14 and AAmF 1919-26 and the AAF amateur league of 1931-34), the short tournaments (Metropolitano and Nacional, Apertura and Clausura, Inicial and Final) as full titles, the three 1936 cups (Honor, Campeonato and Oro), the 2012/13 Superfinal and the "Campeón de Liga" for the aggregate table (Rosario Central 2025). It excludes the Copas de la Liga and the Copa de la Superliga, which AFA classifies as domestic cups, and super cups or one-off trophies. For 1891 AFA only recognises St. Andrew's.

Copa Argentina · 14 editions
Every completed Copa Argentina edition AFA lists among its domestic cups: 1969 and the relaunched competition since 2011/12. Each edition counts in the year its final was played (2019/20 was decided in December 2021). The 1970 edition had no champion because the final was never completed. It excludes the Supercopa Argentina, the Trofeo de Campeones and the Copas de la Liga.

Copa de la Liga · 6 editions
The cups the top-flight league ran alongside the championship: the 2019 Copa de la Superliga, the 2020 Copa Diego Maradona and the 2021-2024 Copas de la Liga Profesional (6 editions; the tournament was discontinued in 2025). AFA does not count them as Primera División titles but as domestic cups, like the Copa Argentina, so they are worth 2 points, not 4. Each edition counts in the year of its final (the 2020 Copa Maradona was decided in January 2021). It excludes the Trofeo de Campeones, the Supercopa Argentina and the Supercopa Internacional, which are one-off matches and score nothing.
